Now that we are halfway through the second hardest month of the year, still sitting in the hibernation and the cold but noticing signs of spring, and starting to awaken- I feel ready to write again.
I’ve been thinking about all of the beautiful things that happened last year and all of the beautiful people and places I discovered. Or that discovered me.
Here are a few things that fed my soul and my being, and helped me through 2021.
This book. Martha Beck is someone I discovered last year. A recommendation from a dear family member who has also become a dear friend. I listened to this book and it was magical. If I could only choose to remember and recommend one book from my last year, this is it.
If you are short on either time or funds, you can still absorb so much of Martha’s wisdom at these free resources. Her podcast, or her videos.
This artist. The Cottage Fairy is an artist and creator that reminds my soul how to be human. When I am feeling far too sad to go on, or entirely out of control. I put on one of her videos just to breathe. The music and wisdom she shares are so special. Her art always brings me back to myself, when I’ve strayed too far.
This album. On the days when I need to feel, I listen to Pheobe.
This podcast. Glennon, Abby, and Amanda are friends and sisters to each one of us. Being a human is beautiful and hard. Be reminded that we are all doing this. While the world can feel lonely, you are not alone.
I love you. Tell me your favorite things from 2021, or 2022 – what fed or is feeding your soul?
More soon,
Bonnie Rae xx
p.s. take more pictures of yourself. not just your baby or your home or your pets. take pictures and videos of you. be your own soulmate.
