I’ve been feeling a bit stuck. Low energy and melancholy. I love autumn with all of my heart but the change in seasons makes me want to cuddle up with a book and fall asleep every. single. day.
As much as I want to slow down, I don’t want to sleep my life away.
In an effort to recharge and reawaken my heart I have decided to play a game- the minimalism game!
It’s simple really, “Find a friend or family member: someone who’s willing to get rid of their excess stuff. This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day.”
It’s an easy game at first. However, it starts getting challenging! The Minimalists are the originators of this game and Slow Your Home is participating in the month of October as well.
If you’re having trouble getting started with this whole decluttering thing, this is a great way to start.
