30 Day minimalism game

I’ve been feeling a bit stuck. Low energy and melancholy. I love autumn with all of my heart but the change in seasons makes me want to cuddle up with a book and fall asleep every. single. day.
As much as I want to slow down, I don’t want to sleep my life away.
In an effort to recharge and reawaken my heart I have decided to play a game- the minimalism game!
It’s simple really, “Find a friend or family member: someone who’s willing to get rid of their excess stuff. This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day.”
It’s an easy game at first. However, it starts getting challenging! The Minimalists are the originators of this game and Slow Your Home is participating in the month of October as well.
If you’re having trouble getting started with this whole decluttering thing, this is a great way to start.

It’s only the beginning of October, the start of a new season. Autumn shows us how beautiful it can be to let things go. There’s something about autumn that wakes our senses and reminds us to live. Don’t get sleepy, get started.
Can’t find a friend or family member to do this with you? Play along with me! If you decide to play along be sure to tag me in your Instagram and social media posts- I would love to see how it’s going! You can also hashtag #simpledayswithbonnierae.
Here are the items I have let go of so far.

Your home is living space, not storage space. When you declutter you make room for new energy, more space, more life.
I’ll update you as the month continues.
More soon,
Bonnie Rae xx
