Most of my weekends are spent: playing with my pups, reading, camping, or hiking (with a few other bits and bobs thrown in.)
This weekend I decided to declutter my apartment.
I thought it might be interesting for you all to see what decluttering looks like after someone has already decluttered most of their belongings!
When it comes to decluttering it can feel overwhelming to begin. I receive questions all the time about how to begin decluttering.
My best tip is to just get started! Grab a bag and start walking through your house and gather the items that you know you don’t want anymore. Then, take a look at the items in that bag.
The items you are ready to let go of will give you a sense of what you no longer value.
Minimalism or simple living is about only holding onto what aligns with your values and your life’s purpose- the rest can go.
Use what you value as a sort of filter to look at what you own. If you value family, health, and wellness do the items you own promote that? Or are your items keeping you from living that life?
“The question of what you want to own is actually the question of how you want to live your life.” Marie Kondo
