The weekend

Capsule 4. Outfit 5.
This weekend flew by so quickly, they always do. On Friday my boyfriend and I went to a very cute, very corny little restaurant called Silk Road in Waynesboro, VA. Corny as it may be the food is so yummy! It’s sort of a Thai/Sushi combo restaurant and they have fake trees with lights that look like leaves (see above). What’s not to like?
To the restaurant I wore a simple dress from Brandy Melville, a gold necklace, my sandals, and my purse backpack. Very simple, very comfortable.
The rest of the weekend was spent camping, playing with the puppies, and running errands. My outfits for Saturday and Sunday consisted of the same staple pieces worn in different ways. These items were my flannel, my shorteralls, and my Chacos.

For me, the weekends are a time to live slowly and intentionally. I do not spend my weekends tidying and caring for all of my things because I don’t own many things.
Instead I spend my time laughing with my boyfriend and loving on our four little ones (all of which are either canine or feline).
Don’t get me wrong, we still tidy and run a few errands on the weekends but they do not take near as much time as they did before I minimized and simplified.
Now that my life is uncluttered my mind is as well. I know exactly what we need at the store and I buy nothing more- with less stuff in our home we have less dust and clutter to manage.
I’m just happier. I’m content, fulfilled and so thankful that we have just what we need. Hopefully, all of the things we let go of went to someone that needed them.
“Minimalism isn’t emptiness for the sake of emptiness; but rather making room to move freely, think clearly, and open ourselves to the beauty and wonder of life.” Francine Jay
I hope you’ve enjoyed the daily posts this week!

  1. Love! I really want to work on creating my ‘uniform’ and restructuring my wardrobe. I definitely paired the number down, but still don’t feel in love with it. Come helpppppp.

  3. What a cute outfit, especially the long necklace! I’m trying to get rid of clothes I don’t want to create more of a streamlined wardrobe as well (:
