Giveaway: Minimalism- a documentary about the important things

This weekend I received my copy of the Minimalist’s documentary Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things. Click here to watch the trailer.
The documentary was beautiful, special, and encouraging. My partner laughed at me a little because after watching it I immediately tried to give away everything in our house. He entertained choruses of “But we don’t need a couch. It’s more of a luxury,” and “Babe, can I give away the boxes that go with our Lord of the Rings DVD box sets? No? Hmmm…”
I continued to shuffle through the house and I filled another bag with items to donate, all of these things were beautiful but they were no longer useful to me. I let them go, now they’re on their way to making someone else very happy.
Something else I want to let go of is my personal copy of the documentary! The Minimalists encourage those who purchase their books or their documentary to pass it on when they are done with it.
I wanted to take this wonderful opportunity to conduct my first giveaway! To enter for a chance to win the Minimalist’s documentary Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things you can do one of two things:
1. Leave a comment on this post letting me know who/what inspired you to simplify your life.
Or
2. Head over to my Instagram, like the documentary post, and tag someone in the Instagram comments.
You can do either one or both of these things. If you do both you will be entered to win twice. I will use an app to enter names and the app randomly chooses a winner! I will announce the winner next week on the blog and on Instagram.
My hope is that the winner of the documentary will watch it and then pass it on to someone else in their life that needs it.
Best of luck! Leave any questions in the comments below.
More soon,
Bonnie Rae xx

  1. During her battle with breast cancer, my mom simplified her already good diet, making it almost all plant based. I made the change with her to support her, but noticed healthy changes in my own body and mind. From there simplifying my life seemed easy:)

  2. I can’t remember what first inspired my desire to simplify. It’s been a long time since I began. A year ago it all got kicked up a notch when I found Konmari on line. I loved that process, and the principles continue to inspire me. Keep up the good work on your blog!

  3. A move inspired me to simplify my life (what better time to simplify and declutter but when starting over)… but you inspired me most of all! I had never heard of the Konmari method or minimalism prior to your blog, and that’s really what got me started 🙂

  5. Thanks for sharing this documentary. I was inspired just by the film’s trailer. I’ve been inspired to live minimally after deciding to live on the road. My husband and I bought a small rv and are looking forward to moving out of our house and hitting the road full time next year. We are hoping to minimize our belongings and maximize our time with one another. Experiences not things.
